Alpaca 101

What: We are offering a hands-on information session because alpaca education is a big part of what we have been doing since 2001.

When: Postponed to later date

Where: Silent Valley Alpaca’s Cedar House & Studio 1120 Donaldson Rd. Ompah Ontario

Your Hosts: Robert & Hanne Quigley, owners of Silent Valley Alpaca and some of Canada’s finest Alpacas since 2001.

Cost: $60.00 per person or $100.00 for 2 people

Your speakers are alpaca owners with extensive experience;

Hans Brouwer & Colleen Millen-Brouwer; owners of Wilhaven Ridge Alpacas in Cumberland Ontario

Hans and Colleen have owned alpacas for 8 years, they maintain a herd of high quality alpacas and are our guest speakers on setting up your ranch - information for new alpaca owners.

Shannon Cassidy-Rouleau & Chris Rouleau, owners of Ballintotas Alpacas in Braeside Ontario

Falling in love with alpacas has given Chris and Shannon a chance to enjoy the outdoors and involve their children in caring for livestock in a low stress, family business venture. They will dazzle us with the awesomeness of alpaca fleece, and what to do with your fibre once your alpacas are shorn.

Karen & Randy Moore, owners of numerous tractors and a handful of chickens, cats, and lots of garden and 3 beautiful fibre males in Smiths Falls Ontario

Brand new alpaca owners, Karen’s passion for weaving along with Randy’s passion for the farming lifestyle make this couple perfect candidates for alpaca ownership. Their unique perspective and situation demonstrate that the process of alpaca ownership is both emotional and logically driven.  Their story is all of humorous, loving and true.
